The Business Development Rep (BDR) will be primarily responsible for scheduling meetings between technology/security/DevSecOps leaders and our sales teams to generate and drive new business for our Security and Compliance Automation solution. This role will be responsible for researching, identifying and qualifying leads, setting up meetings for the account executives, and assisting the team in growing opportunities, revenue and overall profitability. 

This role will require frequent and heavy telephone and PC keyboard use, social media presence, and agility. The right candidate is a quick learner who is resourceful and who has a drive to succeed in bringing in and qualifying business leads. This person will also benefit from experience or interest in the information security and cybersecurity, industries. 

This position will report to the Chief Marketing Officer. It's an exciting time to join the Anitian family!

Position Responsibilities

  • Support sales efforts by targeting and penetrating Commercial and Enterprise Accounts utilizing outbound prospecting skills. In addition, candidate will work to qualify inbound calls, chats, and emails to build quality sales pipeline
  • Qualify leads and schedule meetings with the Enterprise Account Executives
  • Utilize Salesforce.com and CRM platforms to ensure standard processes are followed during lead and opportunity qualification
  • Work with direct sales organizations to identify qualification improvements and ensure only qualified leads are passed
  • Ability to understand complex business environments and uncover customer issues, while understanding business problems to identify opportunities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment while still providing quality opportunities and driving revenue.
  • Contacts inactive clients and prospects to generate interest in Anitian’s services and products and qualify opportunities to hand off to an account executive for follow up
  • Creates additional contacts within customer accounts to expand our reach and create additional value for the client
  • Completes weekly and monthly target and campaign touches
  • Works closely with internal and external resources to generate additional prospects through research/reports from the company CRM and other sources
  • Transfers opportunity knowledge to account executive
  • Provides assistance and/or back up to the Sales Engagement Manager
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of Anitian value propositions, market differentiators and product offerings

 

Qualifications

Experience

  • 1 - 3 years prior business development or inside sales experience, preferably in a SaaS company
  • Experience selling information security products a plus, but not required.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRM
  • Excellent phone communication and written communication skills
  • Well versed in Social Media, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Etc.
  • Be based in Portland and/or surrounding areas and must be able to work from the office daily
  • Ability to build strong working relationship with the Enterprise and Commercial Sales Force and Field Marketing organization
  • Ability to keep Salesforce.com up to-date with lead/opportunity notes, qualification status/tracking, correct marketing event codes with the ability to track success
  • Adhere to and enforce lead/opportunity distribution processes, policies and procedures
  • Build team brand and personal brand by achieving top internal and external customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision, independently and/or as a member of a project team
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and follow-up skills
  • Meet or exceed monthly qualified opportunity targets

 

Education, Certifications and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field
