Job Description

The VP of Engineering role will lead the development of our cloud security and automation products.  This role reports to the CEO and will manage a team of developers and implementation engineers.  The role collaborates closely with professional services and the security operations teams to ensure products successfully move from development to customer implementation.  Collaboration with strategic partners, such as AWS, are a critical function as well.  Some travel is required.

If you are the ideal candidate, then you will have hands on experience in a cloud or SaaS development environment.  You will possess experience leading development teams working in AWS and cloud automation technologies. You will also have a deep appreciation for DevOps principles.  You will have excellent written communication skills. Moreover, you can speak with authority and experience on developing cloud products. Experience with information security and compliance will also be extremely beneficial.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Build and evangelize Anitian’s vision for security and compliance
  • Manage all development aspects of our Sherlock platform
  • Be an authentic, player-coach with developers
  • Implement and oversee DevOps practices
  • Optimize the velocity and quality of product delivery
  • Ensure the personal and professional development of each team member
  • Cultivate a collaborative, authentic, and high-trust environment where individual ingenuity is cherished and celebrated
  • Listen to customers and their needs
  • Write product specifications and requirements based on customer needs, market factors, and collaboration with partners
  • Recruit, train, and coach DevOps team members
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales on product specifications, features, and capabilities
  • Work with key partners to integrate their solutions into the Sherlock platform
  • Manage DevOps budget
  • Meet and exceed KPIs
  • Other development and managerial duties as assigned


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical leadership role (CTO, Director, manager, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience building cloud / SaaS products
  • Experience developing product roadmaps
  • Extensive experience leading teams with modern, DevOps practices
  • Exceptional communication skills, especially written
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality code using CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with information security or compliance technologies is highly desirable
  • College degree
