Job Description

To provide specialist dignity harms prevention support through end-to-end non investigative case management, and accurate reporting, supporting the Section Manager Dignity Protection Investigations through the application of policies, standards, and best practice.

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Supports the development of policies and procedures that link GBV/BHV prevention plans to the health and safety strategy, helping to embed and promote a physically and psychologically safe workplace culture.
  • Coordinate all non-investigative cases with P&O colleagues at relevant operations to ensure a rapid turnaround time and finalisation of cases.
  • Support the Section Manager with the recording and statistical reporting of all cases.
  • Support the development and review of dignity training and awareness in line with company policies.
  • Gather insights shared during training to ensure further interventions are put in place to enable continuous improvement.
  • Partners with other functions to expand training and awareness to external stakeholders like communities, schools and non-government organisations (NGO), etc.
  • Collaborate with the designated security investigation and P&O teams to manage reported non-investigative dignity harm incidents and ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure accurate capturing and reporting of all dignity harm incidents to assist the Section Manager in monitoring areas that may require bespoke interventions.
  • Assist the Section Manager with analysis of reported cases to identify common and repeat behaviour issues, enabling ongoing review and improvement of interventions to address behaviours not aligned with company values and policies.
  • Incorporate dignity harm initiatives into the annual inclusion and diversity calendar and culture action plans.
  • Support the development of innovative dignity action plans to ensure dignity harm standards and policies are embedded across all levels of the organisation.
  • Collaborate with the communication department to develop clear communication plans to ensure dignity harm prevention efforts reach all employees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology or an equivalent qualification
  • Valid EB/Code 08 driver’s license
  • Registration with PSIRA

Experience

  • 3 - 6 years’ experience in dealing with GBV/BHV related matters.
  • Proven experience in implementing and contributing to the development of dignity harm, protection, or GBV related programmers in an operational setting.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of dignity harm, GBV, and protection frameworks, including prevention and case management principles.
  • Understanding investigation processes, including case intake, documentation, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of relevant South African legislation related to labour practices, harassment, and confidentiality (POPIA).
  • Sound understanding of dignity harms and related behavioural challenges.
  • Advanced skill in case management.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support dignity harm prevention and response initiatives.
  • Competence in administering and interpreting diagnostic or assessment tools within scope of practice.
  • Strong facilitation, training, and basic research skills.
  • Ability to engage on sensitive issues with professionalism, empathy, and respect.
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced report writing skills, with solid analytical and reporting capability
