The successful incumbent will implement and monitor sustainable social development projects that leave a positive diamond legacy. To build and maintain positive relationships with relevant stakeholders and to provide recommendations to management on relationship matters.

Job Description

  THE SOCIAL PERFORMANCE OFFICER AT DEBMARINE NAMIBIA:

  • Collaborates with project promoters to effectively implement social investment projects.
  • Organises project handovers to ensure formal transfer to beneficiaries for sustainable use.
  • Regularly monitors and evaluates projects, providing recommendations to ensure long-term success.
  • Proactively identifies and recommends social investment opportunities that align with the company's initiatives and deliver meaningful, long-term benefits.
  • Reviews applications for social investment, conducting due diligence to ensure projects are credible, impactful, and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Compiles submissions for CSI committee consideration, clearly defining the intended project and its potential benefits for informed decision-making.
  • Maintains a CSI stakeholder list to ensure a consistent and effective approach to building positive relationships and targeted engagement strategies.
  • Plans and arranges meetings and presentations to facilitate clear communication and strengthen trust between the company and relevant CSI stakeholders.
  • Participates in visits to relevant CSI stakeholders to maintain direct relationships, build goodwill, and address matters of mutual interest.
  • Provides management with information on CSI stakeholders to protect and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
  • Compiles case studies and success stories on funded projects to showcase the impact of the company's social investments and enhance its reputation.
  • Builds and manages positive relationships with external stakeholders in the social development sphere to foster collaboration and expand the company's ability to deliver meaningful social impact.
  • Maintains a database for social investment applications to ensure accurate tracking, transparency, and efficient management of proposals.
  • Records social investment information on electronic systems to support reporting, monitoring, and decision-making.
  • Arranges travel, accommodation, and allowances for management, compiling itineraries for out-of-town trips to ensure smooth, well-organised travel when engaging with CSI stakeholders or projects.

Qualifications

CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • National Diploma in Social Science or Business Management with majoring in Community Development, Marketing Management and/or Public Relations Management.
  • A formal qualification in Community Development would be advantageous.
  • 5 years relevant experience, which includes Community development and Project Management.
