The specialist is responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis to provide strategic insights that support Anglo American
Platinum's planning and strategy, with a focus on macroeconomic trends, commodity outlooks, and market dynamics.

Job Description
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Conduct comprehensive research on global economic trends, regional developments, and macroeconomic indicators (e.g.,
- GDP, inflation, currency movements) using different analytical tools and databases to gather data and validate assumptions
- Analyse input commodity trends and supply/demand dynamics across different time horizons
- Prepare data-driven insights and presentations to communicate findings
- Assist in developing and delivering presentations and reports on economic outlooks and commodity trends tailored to the
- needs of senior leadership and relevant business units.
- Work with senior strategists to create resources, including economic models, forecasting templates, and scenario analyses
- Coordinate with external economic research and consulting firms to ensure timely, cost-effective support for market analysis
- Pursue continuous professional development, staying informed on global economic and industry-specific trends to maintain a
- cutting-edge analytical perspective
- Support senior strategists in cross-disciplinary projects by providing insights into macroeconomic & commodity market trends
- Recommend improvements to forecasting & analysis processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and strategic relevance
Qualifications
- Bachelor‘s degree in Econometrics, Economics, Business Analytics or a related field
- Valid EB/Code 08 driver’s licence
Desirable:
Professional qualifications or certifications that demonstrate deeper financial and econometric capabilities
Knowledge and Skills:
- Broad understanding of macroeconomic principles and commodity markets, with
- specific knowledge of the mining industry beneficial but not essential.
- Commercial understanding of the impact of economic scenarios and market trends
- on business decisions.
- Knowledge of global economic indicators, financial markets, and commodity pricing
- dynamics, with familiarity in specialized areas such as emerging markets, foreign
- exchange trends, and inflation considerations helpful but not mandatory.
