Job Description
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct investigations to determine cause of non-compliance or sub-optimum performance.
- Day to day oversight of outsourced Geology analytical function including planning of submissions to outsource laboratories in accordance with group analytical requirements, transport, sample reconciliation, tracking and invoicing. To ensure auditable, accurate and efficient service delivery.
- Compilation and reporting of Geology QA/QC statements and analysis of 5% check assays.
- Support for ad hoc projects such as budget and planning process
- Provide accurate and timeous information regarding analytical results highlighting areas of concern
- Effective and timeous identification of bias and recommendations of corrective actions
- Effective, auditable and suitable QA/QC services for the group
- Monitoring of Geology QA/QC indicators and trends in the department and identifying optimization proposals and risk.
- Implement the developed standard assay management practices throughout the Organisation’s operations.
- Monitor the effective and time efficient service from laboratories that supports the Geology function against agreed specifications.
- Participate in improvement projects within the department. e.g. development and/or enhancements of new systems.
- Work Management:
- Manage work: Engage with appropriate level stakeholders before/during process change.
- Schedule work: Develop short-term schedule for laboratory work.
- Monitor laboratory SLAs within the Geology function
- QA/QC execution: Produce month-end summary reports for Geology QAQC activities.
- QA/QC execution: Co-ordinate routine checks and measures ensuring results are adequately and consistently documented.
- Feedback: Liaison with other departments to ensure awareness of any process changes.
People & Teams:

- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance to internal and external regulatory, legislative and permitting requirements.
Qualifications
- Years Tertiary qualification (B Tech) or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 – 3 years post graduate experience in Laboratory, Evaluation or Operational experience
Technical knowledge:
- Advanced Computer skills and knowledge
- Knowledge of the best utilization/business applications of QA/QC within the analytical environment
