Come and join this dedicated team as our Senior Instrumentation Technician. The Senior Instrumentation Technician is responsible for providing dedicated technical and operational systems support to the process division. The role requires a high degree of competence in instrumentation used in highly automated plants. The role is further responsible to ensure that all systems are maintained and optimized to ensure that the capacity to the production process is maximized

Job Description
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Management of the equipment within the process control domain according to the prescribed key performance indicators from the process control department.
- Best practice for instrumentation developed within relevant legal and safety frameworks.
Recommend:
- Identify high risk and safety critical areas
- Identify areas of poor availability
Agree:
- Changes in the control solution or strategy as a result of standardization
- Changes in the control solution or strategy based on risk identified
Input:
- Anglo Platinum systems and procedures
Decide:
- Modifications to the control solution for process problems
Execute:
- Disseminate best practice in instrumentation aspects
- Audit high risk and safety critical areas
- Analyze and identify problems on the current control solution
- System trouble shooting and hardware problems resolution
- Support on existing instrumentation, networks and hardware
- Calibration and maintenance of all equipment within the control solution
- Adherence to the Anglo Platinum Change Procedure
- Adherence to Anglo Platinum Standards
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks
- Control monthly maintenance budgets for process control section
- Assist with commissioning for on-site projects
This role is at a D1 level reporting to the Senior Section Engineer or Instrumentation Engineer
Qualifications
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Process Instrumentation) or NQF 6.
- Registered as a Professional Technician with ECSA advantageous.
- Competent as Instrument Mechanician.
Experience
- 3 – 5 years relevant work experience
- Having the Siemens PCS7 PLC experience will be an added advantage
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of applicable laws, standards and specifications
- Advanced computer literacy
- English literate
- Good decision making skills
- Industrial networking knowledge.
- Valid driving license code 08
Pre-requisite
- Required to do standby and overtime.
- Medical fitness assessment
