Job Description
YOUR TASK
We are looking for a Senior Consultant – Commercial Strategy & Value Creation (m/f/d) to help clients unlock rapid top-line growth and margin expansion in newly acquired portfolio companies and complex corporate transformation situations. In this role, you will work closely with Mid-Market Private Equity investors, Operating Partners, portfolio company leadership teams, and C-level stakeholders to identify, design, and execute commercial value creation initiatives across sectors such as Technology, Media, Telecommunications, and Financial Services.
As well as a comprehensive professional induction, you will gain deep exposure to the strategy and execution environment of private equity investors, portfolio companies, and corporate clients from day one.
Look forward to diverse and challenging tasks, such as:
- Design and operationalise value creation strategies that accelerate revenue growth and improve margin performance in post-deal and transformation environments.
- Develop commercial improvement programs across sales strategy and enablement, go-to-market design, channel strategy, and pricing.
- Work directly with portfolio company CEOs, CROs, CMOs, and Private Equity sponsors to drive alignment, challenge assumptions, and embed a data-driven commercial culture.
- Translate fragmented and imperfect business data into clear commercial insights, priority actions, and measurable value creation opportunities.
- Support portfolio companies and enterprise clients in defining high-impact growth levers linked to revenue quality, customer retention, commercial productivity, and EBITDA improvement.
- Assess business performance using sector-specific metrics, including SaaS and software indicators such as ARR, MRR, churn, and net retention, as well as Financial Services metrics such as AUM and cost-to-serve.
- Build fact-based business cases, commercial roadmaps, and execution plans that can be implemented at pace in mid-cap organisations.
- Prepare high-quality presentations and executive materials for management teams, investment committees, and senior deal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of the firm’s proprietary commercial frameworks, value creation methodologies, and intellectual property.
- Mentor junior analysts and associates, while supporting broader practice development and business building activities.
Qualifications
You have a strong analytical and entrepreneurial mindset, combine strategic thinking with execution discipline, and are committed to delivering measurable commercial impact in fast-moving client environments.
In addition, you will recognise yourself in the following:
- 3-6 years of professional experience, ideally including at least 2 years at Senior Consultant or Project Leader level in a recognised strategy consultancy, such as MBB, a Tier 2 strategy firm, or a Big 4 Strategy/Deals practice.
- Alternatively, a strong combination of top-tier consulting experience followed by an in-house commercial leadership role, for example in RevOps, Chief of Staff to a CRO, or Strategy Director positions within TMT or Financial Services.
- Strong understanding of the private equity lifecycle, including the pace, pressure, and execution intensity of the post-deal environment.
- Clear understanding of how commercial levers such as pricing, sales effectiveness, channel performance, and retention influence EBITDA performance and value creation outcomes.
- Proven sector experience in B2B TMT, especially software or SaaS, and/or Financial Services.
- Strong fluency in sector-specific KPIs and commercial performance metrics, including ARR, MRR, churn, net retention, AUM, and cost-to-serve.
- Advanced quantitative and analytical modelling skills, with the ability to structure messy data and convert it into practical recommendations for management teams and investors.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, including elite-level synthesis, storylining, and slide writing for senior executive and investor audiences.
