Our Customer team are focused on exactly that – our Customers! Pricing is a key consideration for Z customers, and our Pricing team look after our pricing strategy, implementation and integrity across a wide variety of accounts, products, brands, methodologies and systems!
About the role
As Kaituki Whakatau Utu Punakora Supply Pricing Lead, you’ll be Z’s trusted expert on Supply pricing, creating the insights, systems and capability that support optimal integrated pricing decisions.
This is a commercially focused role where you’ll help optimize value through the fuel supply chain through effective insight generation and pricing execution, help maximise opportunity, manage risk and lead our pricing regulatory reporting requirements. You’ll also play a key role in developing supply pricing systems, processes and capability — with a strong focus on creating simplicity. As part of a tight knit team you’ll have exposure to pricing across our business including in B2B and Retail pricing.

You will have the opportunity to
- Build strong partnerships within Z into our Supply business unit as well as customer facing businesses, supporting them to make informed pricing decisions and helping drive the financial health of the business.
- Assist in establishing, monitoring and reviewing pricing strategies, aligned with company objectives
- Help grow capability across the team, fostering strong commercial thinking, learning and performance
- Be the trusted supply pricing expert, providing advice and insights that support integrated pricing decisions across Z
- Develop fit-for-purpose pricing systems, processes and capability that make pricing easier, clearer and more effective.
What you’ll bring to Z
- Pricing strategy/revenue management experience is preferred, however we are looking for the ability to incorporate market analysis, cost, competitor and profit considerations into pricing strategy, which may suit a variety of backgrounds
- Liquid fuel market experience would be beneficial, but we are open to wider experience backgrounds such as wholesale trade, utilities, or other energy markets.
- A sharp commercial acumen with the ability to use successful thinking strategies to solve problems and make recommendations
- You’ll be someone who enjoys creating clarity out of complexity, building simple and effective ways of working, and partnering well across the business to support better commercial outcomes
- Experience working with data, drawing out actionable insights with excellent financial and business analysis skills
- You’ll have experience in identifying and managing risk of various kinds
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to identify, plan and implement actions to engage with a range of relevant stakeholders
- A solid understanding of the markets we operate in, insight as to how value is generated and the curiosity to seek out answers
- The ability to work collaboratively, through others within the team and across the organisation effectively, positively influencing business outcomes

The base salary range for this role is $132,100 to $155,450 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company and individual performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
