About the role
This is a 14-month fixed term opportunity for an Inventory Supply Analyst responsible for delivering efficient, accurate and timely processing and reconciliation of all Supply Trading activity. The role supports high volume, high value transactions across product sales and purchases including crude, competitor Australian Term Contract transactions, and borrow and loan activity. You will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity, compliance, and accurate reporting while working closely with internal trading, operations, and finance stakeholders to support smooth end-to-end supply execution.
This role is predominantly based out of our Banksmeadow Terminal with a hybrid working arrangement. There is free parking provided on-site.
Key responsibilities
- Execute day to day inventory operations activities supporting the trading business, including accurate volume and price reconciliations
- Manage end to end settlement of trading activities across crude, product, term and spot transactions
- Prepare and deliver inventory reporting and analysis to support operational decision making, accountability and MSO compliance
- Proactively monitor inventory processes, work instructions and procedures to drive efficiency, accuracy and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders across Ampol, as well as relevant external parties
- Respond to and resolve supplier and customer queries in a timely and professional manner
- Support Finance and Integration team objectives as required
- Complete ad hoc tasks aligned to business priorities
- Act as a backup for other inventory roles to support team continuity and resilience
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant business experience
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of supply chain or inventory operations, preferably with two or more years’ experience
- Strong team player with excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and balance stakeholder expectations effectively
- Resilient and positive when working under pressure in a high-volume environment
- Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain issues and outcomes
- Strong problem-solving capability, with sound judgement on when and how to escalate issues
- Tenacity to follow up and resolve unreconciled items to completion
- Working knowledge of SAP, particularly inventory, billing, sales and distribution modules
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently across multiple processes and systems
- Capability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the business and with external stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with a commitment to continuous improvement initiatives
