About the role: 

Reporting to the Scheduling Supervisor, the Scheduler Planner is primarily responsible for coordinating the efficient scheduling of customer bulk deliveries within fuel, jet, marine and rail supply in a timely and safe manner and ensuring all deliveries meet or exceed customer requirements. 

This role will require on call after hour service during the week and weekend which is shared amongst the team on a roster.  

  

Key responsibilities: 

  • Optimise the output of dedicated scheduling tool 

  • Maintain inventory levels 

  • Analyse scheduling system outputs 

  • Manage deliveries to the company and contractor fleets 

  • Ensuring statutory compliance are met with regulations and company standards 

  • Effective use of business tools which includes SAP and ORTEC 

  • Provide telephone support and respond to customer enquires 

  

About you: 

You bring a positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work independently, supported by proven experience in a similar role. You demonstrate strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving and decision making skills, with prior experience in Transport and Logistics considered an advantage. You are highly customer-focused, skilled in stakeholder engagement, and show a strong drive for achievement, energy, and commitment to delivering results. 

  

Key skills and experience: 

  • Proven experience in scheduling 

  • Experience in (road) transport and logistics industry and knowledge of relevant laws is ideal 

  • Previous experience in scheduling systems is ideal  

  • Strong analytical skills 

  • Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written) 

  • Customer service focused
