Job Description
As the Member Service Specialist, you will support a member base of 20,000 active members, in which you will guide communication between members and AMS. You will perform customer service tasks including the processing of applications, providing information on AMS member benefits and services, account maintenance, and updating member information while enhancing the member experience. The work requires a passion for helping others and is remote-friendly.
Reports to: Senior Director of Membership & School Accreditation and Membership Manager
Works closely with: Membership, Accreditation, and Events teams
Liaises with: Staff in all areas of the organization
Classification: Full-time (1.0 FTE); Non-Exempt
Annual Salary: $38,000 - $43,000
Worksite: This is a remote position with travel 2-3 times per year. Must be eligible to work in the United States

Job Duties
School and Individual Membership
Communicate with schools to ensure that membership renewal applications are complete and submitted accurately
Use Association Anywhere database to enroll new members and maintain existing member accounts
Process member applications and dues, including refunds and invoices for unpaid balances
Outreach to prospective school and individual members regarding the benefits of membership
Maintain member records
Collect unpaid school memberships
Other duties as assigned
Customer Service and Cross-Departmental Tasks
Monitor shared inboxes and provide helpful responses to external inquiries in a timely manner.
Participate in annual conference planning with a focus on member experience
Register participants for annual conference and events, which may include creating registrations, running registration reports, generating conference confirmations and invoices, collections and making changes to registration information including cancellations and transfers.

Assist with membership mailings and handwritten notes to members

Qualifications

Knowledge of data management systems
Proficiency in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
High school diploma or GED
Knowledge about the Montessori method of education a plus
Mandarin speaker a plus
