Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a General Labourer with experience in operating heavy machinery for our Sudbury North location. Under the supervision of the Site Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the general maintenance of the premises. 

  • Receive, sort and organize different types of ferrous metals
  • Cover the scale and weigh in trucks when required using the RECY system to properly weigh and track the material
  • Do general maintenance of the premises
  • Ensure the equipment in good condition
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients on site
  • Operate the mobile crane and other heavy machinery as required
  • Work with a safety oriented mindset

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, warehousing, metal recycling, or a similar industrial environment is considered an asset
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, such as mobile cranes, forklifts, loaders, or similar machinery
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate and maintain equipment
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn site systems and procedures
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new processes, equipment, and responsibilities
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour as required
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Commitment to safety and safe work practices
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
