Job Description

As a key member of the Finance team, the Senior Accounting Analyst plays a critical role in supporting month-end activities, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Working closely with operations and finance stakeholders, this position contributes to the accuracy of financial information, drives efficiencies through automation and optimization, and provides insightful analysis to support informed business decisions.

What you're responsible for: 

Reporting to the Accounting supervisor, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities/tasks:  

  • Book recurring journal entries in GL; 
  • Prepare month-end; 
  • Lead the variance analysis process of P&L; 
  • Prepare the analysis of balance sheet; 
  • Develop financial models and analysis to support improvements initiatives on an ad-hoc basis; 
  • Participate in the automation and optimization of processes; 
  • Improve the streamlining of financial metrics; 
  • Ensure implementation of recommendations to enhance the accuracy of financial information; 
  • Identify areas of improvements; 
  • Help ensuring accuracy, completeness, cut-off and existence; 
  • Support the operation as liaison to the finance team. 

Qualifications

To join our team  :

  • College or University degree in accounting/finance 
  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years in accounting, working on financial systems 
  • Very strong with Excel 
  • Experience improving financial processes 
  • Experience participating in financial system migration 
  • Demonstrate leadership and critical thinking; 
  • Autonomous, methodical, analytical and accountable; 
  • Bilingualism. 

Assets: 

  • Experience working on financial systems ( Great Plains, Recy, Maximo, D365 etc.)
