Job Description
As a Transportation Safety and Compliance Advisor, you will be responsible for training and ensuring compliance with regulations, laws and company policies for transport managers and in-house drivers in the Greater Montreal area, the Ottawa region and Abitibi. Please note that the position starts early in the morning, typically between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m.
What you’re responsible for:
- Acting as a trainer and advisor in road safety and regulatory compliance;
- Advising drivers on best practices in terms of road safety and compliance;
- Managing follow-ups with transport managers regarding logbooks and safety rounds to ensure compliance with road regulations;
- Collaborating with transport and fleet maintenance managers to monitor the PEP and transport equipment compliance;
- Visiting our various sites to inspect the quality and conformity of the work performed by our drivers;
- Performing road assessments, audits and training for new drivers as well as existing employees;
- Analyzing, documenting and following up on road accidents, infractions, complaints and near-misses related to transportation, and provide recommendations as needed.
Qualifications
To join our team:
- You have a Class 1 FM license and have knowledge of dangerous goods transportation;
- You have experience as a driver, inspector, trainer or in a related role;
- You have a strong understanding of SAAQ regulations and the Highway Safety Code;
- You have good knowledge of compliance standards related to vehicle dimensions and weight;
- You are bilingual in French and English;
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as the DCE system.
