Job Description

You will be responsible for:

  • Receiving and placing metal in the appropriate location
  • Unloading trucks and checking the quality of the material
  • Bringing carcasses and other ferrous materials to the shredder loading area
  • Transporting bins of non-ferrous material
  • Loading ferrous products destined for customers
  • Performing material identification tests using appropriate products or magnets
  • Evaluating cuts of material that are not sellable
  • Taking physical inventory of stock according to the established schedule
  • Recording material weights in your report upon arrival and departure from the site
  • Greasing, as needed, different parts of your machine requiring lubrication
  • Washing the machine, when required

Qualifications

To join our team:

  • You are able to drive and operate a heavy vehicle
  • You hold your construction equipment competency card
  • You have a valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • You have at least one year of experience in a similar role
  • You are conscientious about health and safety
  • You have good priority management skills
  • You have good communication skills
  • You work well in a team
