Job Description

The Account Manager is responsible for the sale of Aluminum and Non-Ferrous metals. The incumbent carries out business development by identifying new opportunities while ensuring a relationship of trust with current customers. The Account Manager will be called upon to work in close collaboration with all the departments involved in the transformation process of non-ferrous metals as well as all the departments involved in the commercial aspect of the transaction. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Negotiate contracts with new and existing customers as well as confirm contractual terms and conditions
  • Ensure maximum profitability during the transaction while remaining competitive
  • Ensure a relationship with the customer from the beginning and end of the sales cycle, including the after-sales relationship
  • Manage customer complaints with internal partners to ensure a return as soon as possible
  • Prepare purchase orders and their content including price, description, delivery date and applicable conditions
  • Prepare contracts and ensure legal terms are covered
  • Develop and implement sales strategies adapted to customer needs
  • Establish sales objectives (ex: sales volumes, gross margins and pricing policies) while initiating cost reduction strategies
  • Perform market analyzes to establish prices based on supply and demand
  • Ensure prices are up to date and competitive
  • Work in collaboration with other account managers
  • Communicate new market trends to managers and other account managers (ex: price updates, new target markets etc.)
  • Evaluate alternative suppliers, new customers and new products, analyze offers and make supplier recommendations

Qualifications

  • Results-driven mindset, with a tenacity for speed and action 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, excellent communication skills, organized, collaborative and detail oriented 
  • University Degree is preferred (Sales, marketing and/or operations focus is an asset)
  • 1+ years in a Customer Success, Relationship Management, Account Management, or similar role is preferred 
  • Ability to perform mental math calculations
  • Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel
  • Bilingualism preferred (English and French)
  • Valid passport and driver’s license (some travel required)
