Job Description

  • Oversees production quotas and schedules, ensuring inventory and shipments targets are met.
  • Collaborates with purchasing department to verify, review, maintain and report on materials and production inventories.
  • Facilitates and authorizes repairs or maintenance for production tools and equipment.
  • Serve as a role model, support, and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental policies and practices.
  • Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversees production operations on assigned shift.
  • Prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.
  • Ensures that products are identified, weighed, and warehoused correctly.
  • Operate and train employees on operation of computer scale systems, forklifts, balers, and other processing equipment.
  • Conduct monthly inventory.
  • May be required to operate heavy equipment used in recycling including sorters, crushers, and granulators.
  • Responsible for reviewing, correcting, and submitting employee timecards in a timely and accurate manner. Submits all payroll documents to payroll by the deadline.   
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Coordinates with human resources to respond to employee concerns or complaints.
  • Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees with the assistance of human resources.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 5 – 10 years of experience preferred. Must have management experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, recycling, and metal industry preferred. College degree in related field (Business / Management / Logistics) a plus.
  • Must be able to speak, write, and reading Spanish
