Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Non-Ferrous Receiver (Non-Ferrous Processor) with experience for our Ajax location. Under the supervision of the Yard Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for working directly with the public, representing the company in a professional manner while directly purchasing non-ferrous scrap metals from our customers.

  • Responsible for the purchasing of non-ferrous scrap metals. We will provide you with the training to identify, grade, and determine the quality of Non-Ferrous metals.
  • Data entry into the RECY system, all purchases are processed through our RECY point-of-sale system.
  • Communicates clearly and directly with customers and employees concerning purchases in relation to our grading system.
  • Implements all aspects of material purchasing and inventory while properly weighing and tracking the material.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve quality, service, and cost of all materials and/or services.
  • Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
  • Provides backup support to department personnel when necessary.
  • Preparing shipments and receiving equipment using forklift as required
  • Work with a safety-oriented mindset

Qualifications

  • Customer service skills are a must. Must be able to always represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Experience in operating a forklift
  • Customer service skills
  • Exposure to inputing data using excel
  • Experience in metal recycling
  • Ability to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Good physical fitness
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Excellent attendance and safety record.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Must work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation and follow in accordance with AIM’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Responsible for reporting all accidents, illnesses, or ‘near miss’ incidents to management

HOURS OF WORK

  • Permanent full-time position
  • 44 hours per week, able to work extended hours/weekends when deemed necessary
