Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Marketing - Ontario, the Marketing Coordinator role at AIM provides media coordination, public relations, event coordination, digital coordination, creative projects, and budgets and planning. This positions supports a hybrid work environment. 

Media Coordination

  • Assist with Creative Briefs, as required, for both internal & external resources
  • Implement all marketing initiatives and their placement as per approved media plans (Print media, collateral, digital media, signage, sales centre)
  • Municipal Signage bylaw knowledge, permit application tracking & process management

Public Relations

  • Participate in the design of the company’s PR strategy including sourcing new approaches and developing new strategies
  • Serve as a point person on all proactive and reactive media matters related to regional and national public relations campaigns in English
  • Manage donation communications, coordinating with internal departments, Digital Marketing Specialist, and media partners
  • Monitor all AIM Recycling and competitor information (i.e. pricing, events, industry news, etc.)

Event Coordination

  • Collaborate and manage collateral items required for events, site openings and sponsorships (ie. Tent, heaters, food drink, DJ, parking etc).
  • Assist in development of sponsorship strategy to drive brand awareness
  • Attend sites openings, trade shows and events

Digital Coordination

  • Assist Digital Marketing Specialist in monitoring email inquiries and social media outlets
  • Collaborate to develop social content, write and execute for all applicable outlets
  • Assist with development and maintenance of social media calendar

Creative

  • Assist Director of Marketing with execution of creative output across all applications
  • Ensure accuracy of all creative before approval and execution
  • Ensure that Head Office has all necessary brochures and collateral on hand at all times
  • Support internal departments with creative tasks/executions as needed

Budget and Planning

  • Work with Director of Marketing to develop budgets and media plans
  • Prepare RFQ submissions to vendors/suppliers (signage, media planning, etc…)
  • Other duties as required; The Marketing Coordinator will experience intermittent peak periods (tied to site openings, events, trade shows, etc.) that will occasionally call for longer hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in marketing, advertising, or communications is beneficial
  • Minimum of two to three years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Professional level communication skills
  • PR knowledge and experience advertising corporate programs, sponsorship & community involvement an asset
  • Excellent computer skills with an in-depth knowledge of all Microsoft 365 programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Valid Drivers License require (10% travel to required events)
