Job Description

  •  Acts as a change agent for the development of an OHS culture with all managers/employees for all sites assigned to it;
  •  Advises and supports managers on their various OHS files; Collaborates in the development and implementation of various OHS programs, policies, procedures and tools;
  • Conducts regular inspections of workplaces and inspects work methods to ensure that safety rules are respected.
  • Carries out occupational risk analyses and proposes preventive measures; Conducts investigations and analyses of workplace accidents jointly with managers, and ensures the application of the necessary corrective and preventive measures.
  • Prepares and distributes the company's OHS gazette; Participates and collaborates with administrative bodies, during inspections or investigations (WSIB, fire services, CIUSS, etc.);
  • Responds to requests for information from employees and internal/external customers regarding occupational health and safety.
  • Ensures that all mandatory OHS training is completed for all employees and, if necessary, provides the required training.
  • Prepares and facilitates the Health and Safety Committee; Performs all other related duties in connection with his/her duties.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Diploma or university certificate in OHS at least;
  • Five years of experience in a similar position;
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to occupational health and safety;
  • Excellent communication and extension skills;
  • Excellent planning, organizational and adaptive skills;
  • Possess technical skills acquired in a manufacturing industrial environment;
  • Demonstrate rigor, ability to lead several files at once;
  • Demonstrate initiative, autonomy and a developed customer approach;
  • Mastery of the MS Office suite;
  • Bilingualism is an asset
  • Hold a valid driver's license and be available to travel between the various sites of the company;
  • The position is located in Ontario, and will require the incumbent to be able to cover the assigned territory.
