Job Description

Under the authority of the Corporate Human Resource Director located in Montreal’s headquarters, the HR Coordinator acts as an agent of change and has a consulting role to promote the mission and values of the company through various local and corporate human resource programs. He/She will also have to work closely on a day to day basis with the Juarez Operations Management team.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a high work ethic, excellent communication skills, knowledge of labor regulations and HR practices, strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate should improve HR processes, implement strategies that support business growth, improve morale and employee retention, enhance safety and wellness, strengthen relations between staff and employer, manage job satisfaction, attract the best recruits, and promote the organization's values.

The Coordinator will have 3 direct reports: Receptionist / HR clerk, H&S Technician as well as the Training Advisor

STAFF RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION

  • Make analysis of the manpower needs with the management team
  • Take care of postings and manage head hunters on various mandates
  • Manage interview process with management
  • Prepare documentation for hiring and onboarding of new personnel

COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE STPS

·           Present and follow up the training program

·           Obtain information about courses that help to fulfill this program

·           Follow up on possible requirements or inspections

SECURITY DEPARTMENT

·                                  Follow up on tours of the guards

·                                  Follow up on reports of entry and exit of personnel as well as permits

·                                  Grant permissions to employees

·                                  Generate the overtime notification letters

·                                  Notify the guards of any changes in schedules, staff movement, resignations, hiring, etc

·                                  Prepare and comply with the security program

SERVICES TO EMPLOYEES

·                                  Overview on the menu offered to employees, orders and cafeteria appliances  

·                                  Supervise the work of the cleaning staff

·                                  Manage any related matter for employees Uniforms

·                                  Administration of medical kit and medical equipment for employees

·                                  Grant passes to see the doctor

COMPLIANCE WITH THE INTERNAL LABOR REGULATIONS & CERTIFICATION COMPLIANCE

·                                  Apply records of indiscipline, sanctions, etc.

·           Main contact for the labour board for any matter related to employees, i.e. termination of employment

·           Active participation to implement and maintain various certifications (IATF, CTPAT, ISO 14001, ISO 9001)

HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Work actively to manage workforce development & training
  • Succession planning
  • Manage any work accident and safety at work related matters
  • Coordinates payroll activities
  • Create, communicate and apply various HR policies and procedure in collaboration with head office
  • Participate in the remuneration structure for all activities related to salary, benefits, incentive programs
  • Manage any events, activities for the employees (BBQ, Christmas party, etc.)
  • Manage the annual and ad hoc performance assessment along with annual increases, bonuses, profit sharing
  • Participate actively in contracts renewal for benefits and other service providers related to HR
  • Coach and act as an advisor to supervisors to improve working relationships and support employee problem solving;
  • Act as a partner / advisor for any request from front-line employees;
  • Act as HR leader transformation projects and ensure the proper management of change;

Qualifications

·         Has at least (5) years of relevant experience with at least a minimum of two (2) years of experience in leading an HR department;

·         University degree in Human Resources or related field;

·         Significant experience in Maquiladoras / non-unionized manufacturing compagnies;

·         Strong communication skills (must be bilingual English and Spanish) and capacity to analyze complex situations;

·         Able to work on various important matters at the same time in a structured way and respect the deadlines;

·         Capacity to work on a fast paced / evolving work environment;

·         Strong capacity to adapt top new situations and deal with pressure;

·         Capacity to influence and develop strong confidence relationship with Executive team and headquarters;

·         Strong leadership skills, open minded and able to show empathy;

·         Able to make diagnosis of delicate situations and suggest action plan to solve them;

·         Capacity to develop credibility and trust with every individual of every hierarchical levels;

·         Possess a US visa, major asset
