Job Description

The Technical Marketing Specialist (TMS) reports directly to the Product Manager and provides a critical link between AIM Technical Departments, AIM Marketing and the PCB assembly industry. The role involves ownership and project management of the company’s technical marketing initiatives, working closely with members of AIM’s Marketing, R&D and Technical Support teams.  The TMS will be required to organize and prioritize a diverse set of projects, tasks and activities for timely completion.

 

The TMS will be responsible for providing technical content for product presentations, whitepapers, technical briefs, videos, promotional literature and other tools to enable sales and marketing teams to promote the company’s products effectively.

The TMS will be expected to convey highly technical information in a tailored fashion to various audiences including internal and external support teams through product and application-related trainings and to the industry through trade publications, advertisements, technical conferences and seminars, as well as a number of other avenues.  

Representing the company at various trade shows, conferences and industry associations, the TMS should possess strong technical skills, communication skills, including public speaking, and demonstrate excellent ability to communicate complex ideas.

The TMS will also be required to complete a number of administrative tasks within the Technical Marketing scope as part of their daily activities. 

Responsibilities

The Technical Marketing Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creating, updating and maintaining technical content for such things as training guides, product presentations, website, marketing collateral;
  • Writing and maintaining technical data sheets;
  • Assisting with management of technical conference schedule including registration, abstract and white paper formatting & submission;
  • Sample Request processing;
  • Arranging technical seminars for customers;
  • Writing technical articles;
  • Centralizing field visit reports;
  • Creating and disseminating technical updates and tips in order to increase the knowledge of the sales force;
  • Planning and delivering training and supporting materials on products and applications to AIM personnel, sales representatives and distributors;
  • Representing the company at various trade shows and industry events;
  • Presenting at technical conferences;
  • Performing other duties as requested.

Qualifications

The Technical Marketing Specialist should possess:

  • University engineering degree (technical or scientist degree) or related experience;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in the technical field;
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing business;
  • Very structured and organized;
  • High degree of attention to detail;
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal, including public speaking);
  • Able to work under tight deadlines;
  • Autonomous and dynamic;
  • Able to bring new ideas and be innovative;
  • Able to communicate, explain and argue on complex and technical information;
  • Fast learner;
  • Business oriented.
