Job Description

Looking for an individual who is motivated and has the skills necessary for the transportation industry.

We are looking for an individual that has experience as a brokerage dispatcher.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate the freight activities surrounding the purchases and sales made by Sales / Customer Service are completed accurately, on time and on budget.
  • Provide support to both the Sales and Customer Service teams. Includes all related administrative duties.
  • Tracking shipments from pick-up to delivery in order to supply up to date information to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain a constant flow of communication between warehouse production, dispatch, carrier and the customer.
  • Load-build to achieve optimum usage of truck space.
  • Plan routes to achieve optimum usage of carrier’s time.
  • Track and trace all current shipments on dispatch spreadsheet.
  • Act as a key contact for freight providers to ensure cost and service efficiencies (including obtaining freight quotes and contingency planning).
  • Input carrier information into software.
  • Monitor carrier compliance.
  • Schedule pick-up and delivery appointments.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum one year experience as a dispatcher in a brokerage environment
  • Strong computer skills using Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Must be good at multi-tasking
  • Excellent communication skills
