ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:

ACMG is a nonprofit organization composed of health care professionals committed to the practice of genetics and genomics.  ACMG was incorporated in 1991 to give national representation to providers of genetic services and their patients with genetic disorders and to speak for the emerging specialty of medical genetics in organizations and agencies concerned with medical service, certification, and regulatory issues. ACMG provides education, resources, and a voice for the medical genetics profession and its mission is to improve health through genetics and genomics.

Serve as administrative and methodological support for ACMG’s evidence-based guidelines program. Assist ACMG systematic review workgroups and support methodologists in the development of clinical practice guidelines using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) approach. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting in the completion of literature searches, reviewing studies as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Work with ACMG methodologists to perform preliminary review of potential SER and EBG topics.
• Support ACMG SER working group members to complete a SER according to standard procedures.
• Search electronic databases and internet resources—assist methodologists to develop efficient and effective search strategies; maintain documentation of search strategies and other relevant SER information; set up projects in relevant software (Covidence, GRADEpro, Pubpub).
• Support the ACMG methodologists and volunteer work group members to create evidence summaries, systematic reviews, and quantitative and qualitative analyses to answer high-impact clinical questions.
• Abstract data into evidence tables, evaluate the quality of individual studies and the strength of the evidence with support from senior methodology staff, synthesize the evidence in a comprehensive report; help manage project timelines.
• Serves as staff liaison to volunteer committee(s) engaged in developing documents.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in genetics, genetic counseling, health services research, biostatistics, health economics, or related quantitative social science field. Genetics knowledge required.
• Training and/or experience in research methods, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and/or biostatistics.
• Facility with conducting literature searches (desired) and/or experience with Pubmed, Embase, PsycINFO, and/or CINAHL databases. Prior systematic evidence review experience is not required.
• Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and time management skills to manage projects
• Exceptional proficiency with basic computer applications (specifically Microsoft Office 2010 or above—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EndNote); ability to manage files and work within a digital environment comfortably; experience with references management software (Endnote) is strongly desired.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in remote teams as well as in person.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines to meet ACMG policy and protocol requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is a largely sedentary position that requires the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. The selected candidate must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations with the ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer) and lift small objects up to 20 lbs. across the office for various needs.
