Job Description

 

  • Directly reporting to the CEO, this senior-level logistics professional will partner with the Ocean Logistics team in further developing our commercial relationships with steamship carriers
  • Manage key relationships with international ocean carrier partners
  • Negotiate with transportation providers to obtain and set rates and determine services available
  • Market research and study to solicit innovative methods to manager logistics efforts
  • Source and manage freight; may be asked to seek out capacity alternatives to meet business requirements as needed
  • Ensure all supply chain partners are working collaboratively and efficiently to insure operations are not interrupted and move at a consistent pace
  • Build carrier capacity by strengthening carrier relationships
  • With timeliness and attention to detail, thoroughly track and document all shipments assigned
  • Provide shipment capacity forecasts to carriers and freight forwarders
  • Provide spot logistics solutions and quotations to internal customers as needed
  • Ensure the agreed service levels are met, drive correction actions where necessary
  • Lead efforts to identify and implement continuous improvement processes that result in lower operational costs
  • Review and verify invoices per service agreements and transportation schedules
  • Conserves CEO's time by reading, researching, and routing correspondence; drafting letters and documents; initiating telecommunications
  • Maintains CEO's appointment schedule by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

  • *MUST BE BILINGUAL IN ENGLISH AND MANDARIN*
  • 5+ years of working experience in Logistics
  • Experience working directly with steamship lines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or associated discipline
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of logistics problems and applications
  • Proven results dealing with internal and external customer requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to deliver clear and concise communication
  • Respond with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Superior leadership, planning and organizing skills
