Job Description

The Booking Coordinator is responsible for assuring timely bookings. They are responsible for meeting the demand of ND/3rd party customers. The Booking Coordinator should evidence being a team player, ensuring pro-active communication to internal and external parties.

The Booking Coordinator should have working knowledge of responsibilities of all involved parties in the booking process.

The Booking Coordinator is responsible for arranging regular and ‘ad hoc’ transport of goods in various modalities, including truck, barge, rail, and/or sea-going vessels. This includes daily communication with these business partners to acquire the best result. He / she provides daily operational support to the Purchasing Team in order to achieve superior service levels to our customer(s)

The Booking Coordinator should have knowledge of how the ports work, how the Shipping Lines plan space and how cargo moves from supplier to the port. Executes bookings timely and quickly, and prepares and manages bookings.

  • Communicate with and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external person
  • Receive requests and turn them into bookings through the use of SAP
  • Manage customer expectation with SO demand through matching SO to a booking
  • Giving feedback on efficiency and suggesting possible improvements
  • Liaise with shipping lines/Build relationships with other external parties
  • Administration
  • Ensure all confirmations are actioned within a timely manor
  • Problem solve and escalate when required
  • Complete and action all team inboxes/folders
  • Action loading schedule report
  • Report on vessel space against commercial targets
  • Mapping report on what needs to be booked or confirmed
  • Bought not booked questionnaire on what allocation is available
  • Global mindset and cultural sensitivity
  • Ensure responsibility is taken for H&S which impacts on the working areas

What we ask

  • Approx.1-3 years of relevant work experience (preferably in logistics or supply chain)
  • A basic understanding of commercial and logistical concepts is a plus
  • You are fulltime available.
