Company Description
We are seeking a Construction Estimator to join a highly innovative leader which shapes some of the most complex projects in the country (e.g., healthcare and commercial). The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, performing quantity take-offs, and managing construction costs. Day-to-day tasks include developing budgets, analyzing project specifications, collaborating with project teams to ensure accuracy, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
Job Description
- Create Precise Cost Estimates: Prepare detailed material and labor takeoffs and price all project components for major construction bids.
- Manage Subcontractor Bidding: Lead the full subcontractor bid process, including solicitation, scope review, and price negotiation to ensure competitive bids.
- Analyze and Apply Market Data: Research current material and labor costs, as well as, construction market trends to ensure estimates are accurate and competitive.
- Collaborate on Preconstruction: Work closely with Project Management and Engineering teams to ensure estimates support construction feasibility and value engineering.
- Maintain Systems: Organize and update all cost data and bid records for continuous accuracy improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of direct experience in Construction Estimating.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Document Fluency: Strong ability to read, interpret, and coordinate construction drawings and specifications.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Excel (advanced) and industry-standard estimating/takeoff software.
