The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Astronaut to join our team based in Berlin, Germany. As an Astronaut, you will play a crucial role in advancing space exploration, conducting scientific research, and representing ESA in international space missions.

• Participate in space missions, including long-duration stays on the International Space Station
• Conduct scientific experiments and research in microgravity environments
• Operate and maintain complex spacecraft systems and equipment
• Perform extravehicular activities (spacewalks) for maintenance and research purposes
• Collaborate with international partners on joint space exploration projects
• Engage in extensive training programs to maintain physical fitness and technical skills
• Communicate mission progress and scientific findings to ground control and the public
• Contribute to the development of new space technologies and mission planning
• Serve as a public ambassador for space exploration and scientific advancement

• Master's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Biology, or related sciences
• Minimum of 1,000 hours of pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft
• Current pilot's license
• Advanced knowledge of spacecraft operations and systems
• Proficiency in extravehicular activity (EVA) techniques
• Strong background in space science and technology
• Experience in conducting scientific research and experimentation
• Excellent physical fitness and ability to pass rigorous medical examinations
• Outstanding problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially under pressure
• Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities in a multicultural environment
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
• Willingness to relocate to the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany for training
• Previous experience in space missions is preferred but not required
• Ability to adapt to long periods in confined spaces and extreme environments
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures
