Job Description

The Operations Finance Analyst is responsible for analyzing, reporting, and controlling costs associated with manufacturing, inventory, and operations. This role ensures accurate cost allocation, supports margin analysis, and provides insights to improve profitability and operational efficiency. 

The ideal candidate for a Financial Analyst / Operations would be able to do the following:

  1. Maintain and update standard costs for products and services in the ERP system. 

  2. Analyze variances between actual and standard costs; prepare monthly variance reports. 

  3. Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate costing for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. 

  4. Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to validate cost structures and identify cost-saving opportunities. 

  5. Prepare and review cost-related journal entries and ensure compliance with accounting standards. 

  6. Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to cost accounting. 

  7. Productivity analysis including headcount analysis and staffing levels supporting operations 

  8. Lead annual operational planning for manufacturing including budgeting and forecasting 

  9. Develop and maintain cost models for new products and projects. 

  10. Partnering with operations to support make/buy decisions, capital investments, inventory management, VAVE, and other needs (ROI) 

  11. Provide margin analysis and profitability reports for management decision-making. 

  12. Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies. 

    Qualifications

    For a candidate to be successful as a Financal Analyst / Operations they must have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 

    • 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment. 

    • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methods. 

    • Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle Fusion Cloud experience is a plus). 

    • Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting tools (OTBI, BI Publisher, or FDI preferred). 

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
