Our Enterprise Data & Analytics team is made up of deep expertise in data, data governance, data science, and enterprise-focused product management and solutions to deliver innovation through our Altisource Business units.

Due to its strategic importance to the company, this division has broad responsibility and exposure, and works closely with executive and business unit management to set priorities and high-impact goals.
 

Position Overview

The Business Analyst is a key resource that will coordinate closely with various areas of the business: Product, Data architecture, Data Scientists, Modelers, Compliance, Legal and other Altisource Business Unit representatives to drive data objectives by: collecting and analyzing source data for connections to Data Catalog systems, performing proactive business and data analysis, creating and updating operational documentation and more. This position requires rigorous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities:

·         Understand business and processes behind enterprise data integration tasks, including acquisition, ingestion, standardization, enrichment, and assembly of data products for downstream applications

·         Develop & ensure currency of high-level architecture overview, data lineage documentation and other necessary operational documentation

·         Define business and functional requirements for using the catalog for CCPA and other privacy regulations

·         Design test scenarios and assist with execution in UAT testing

·         Enterprise-wide analysis of data vendors to identify overlap and cost savings and validation & tracking of value-add from data / model driven initiatives used in other applications throughout the company

·         Leveraging Data Catalog to analyze and confirm data sets, classify data, data lineage, and build appropriate reporting and documentation requirements

Basic Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related technical field

·         3+ years of experience with one or more of the following:

o    analysis of internally or externally sourced data

o    Interaction with clients, vendors and Product teams

o    Use case analysis, workflow and data flow modeling

o    Other Business analysis activities such as operational documentation and requirements gathering

·         2 + years’ experience in writing SQL scripts for effective analysis

·         1+ year experience in Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Microstrategy, Power BI, etc.)

·         1+ year experience with Microsoft products (MS Visio and MS PowerPoint are required)

·         Proven experience in operational analysis, design, and documentation, which includes documenting and managing standard operating procedures

·         Experience documenting complex business systems problems and be able to provide recommendations and research of industry trends, business products, performance analysis, feasibility, measurable key performance indicators and cost impact

·         Demonstrated customer focus experience with the ability to evaluate decisions through the eyes of the customer, build strong relationships, and crate processes with the customers' viewpoint

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Understanding of Data Governance and related operations & documentation

·          Background in Data privacy and related SW solutions for Data Catalog & Security (Collibra, Unifi, Data Guise, etc.)

·         Experience with creative sourcing of new data sources to support a various BUs and use cases

·         Experience in deliveries through agile methodology

·         Background in data research, data mining, and analysis

·         Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies and products

·         Detail oriented with a strong drive to enforce common standards

·         Flexibility and durability in an ever-changing environment: always looking for ways to improve the process and ability to confront difficult circumstances in creative ways

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate complex solutions in unassuming terms

·         Understanding of the US Real Estate and Mortgage markets

·         Knowledge of Database design, Big data architecture (e.g. Hadoop / Snowflake / Redshift)
