An international engineering and consulting organisation active in the energy and infrastructure sector is undergoing a major transformation to support its global growth and operational maturity.
The organisation operates in a project‑driven, international environment, delivering complex engineering and advisory services across multiple regions worldwide. As activities expand, the current project management and operational tooling landscape has reached its limits: fragmented systems, manual follow‑up, and limited end‑to‑end visibility are creating inefficiencies and administrative overhead.
To address these challenges, the organisation is launching a strategic initiative to implement a fit‑to‑standard SAP Public Cloud ERP, placing project management at the core of the future operating model.
The new ERP will become the central backbone enabling the organisation to:
- Manage projects end‑to‑end in a structured and harmonised way
- Standardise project lifecycle processes across all international entities
- Improve planning, time recording, budgeting, and forecasting
- Enhance resource management and collaboration with shared service centres
- Increase transparency through integrated dashboards and reporting
- Reduce complexity by avoiding custom developments and adopting cloud best practices
- Align project management with supporting streams such as finance, billing, and procurement
Job Description
You will co‑lead the end‑to‑end implementation of this SAP Public Cloud ERP on behalf of the organisation, ensuring the solution delivers robust project management capabilities while remaining aligned with:
- fit‑to‑standard SAP Public Cloud principles
- cloud best practices
- the organisation’s overall IT architecture and operating model
You will act as a central coordination point between internal teams, international stakeholders, and the implementation partner, driving a fully integrated ERP transformation and ensuring the delivery of a scalable template that can be reused for future entities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership & Governance
- Co‑lead the SAP Public Cloud ERP implementation together with the internal program manager and the system integrator
- Act as the key representative of the organisation towards vendors, integrators, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure alignment with internal governance, architecture principles, and shared service operating models
- Drive the project roadmap, scope definition, planning, and milestone tracking
- Facilitate decision‑making processes and steering committee involvement
2. Fit‑to‑Standard & Template Design
- Ensure strong adherence to fit‑to‑standard SAP Public Cloud principles
- Challenge customisation requests constructively and pragmatically
- Coordinate the design of a reusable ERP template for future affiliates or entities
3. Stakeholder & Team Management
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams including business, IT, implementation partners, and shared service centres
- Engage international stakeholders and bridge cultural and organisational differences
- Support process owners in defining standardised, efficient, and scalable business processes
4. Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
- Proactively identify risks and define mitigation plans
- Monitor interdependencies across legal, financial, operational, data, and integration domains
- Ensure high‑quality deliverables, documentation, and traceability
5. Change Management
- Support the change and communication strategy related to the new ERP
- Prepare impacted users and ensure adoption and smooth transition
- Coordinate training activities and cutover readiness
Qualifications
- Proven experience as Project Manager on SAP Public Cloud ERP or SAP S/4HANA Cloud implementations
- Experience delivering ERP implementations in an international context
- Strong fit‑to‑standard mindset, with the ability to challenge scope and complexity
- Experience working with shared service centre‑based ERP operating models
- Ability to challenge internal stakeholders constructively and diplomatically
- Excellent coordination, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Autonomous, structured, and results‑oriented working style
Nice to Have
- Experience in change management within ERP transformation programs
Languages
- Fluent English required
- Knowledge of French or Dutch is an asset
