An organisation is seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Developer to lead the migration of existing on‑premise data warehouse and ETL systems to AWS cloud‑based platforms. The role involves designing, developing, and optimising cloud-native pipelines using AWS services, Snowflake, DBT, and related technologies.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration from on‑premise data warehouse/ETL systems to AWS Cloud.
- Implement and optimise a cloud-based data warehouse using AWS services, Snowflake, DBT, and AWS Glue.
- Migrate existing BI data feeds and integrate them with cloud-native analytics tools.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to gather requirements and coordinate activities.
- Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for cloud environments.
- Ensure data quality, performance, and reliability across the cloud data stack.
- Document architectures, processes, and data models.
- Manage timelines, dependencies, and partner collaboration.
- Stay updated on cloud data engineering best practices and emerging AWS technologies.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar.
- 8+ years of experience in data warehousing, ETL, BI, and cloud data engineering.
- Proven experience migrating DWH/ETL workloads to AWS and Snowflake.
- Strong knowledge of AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, Quicksight, and related services.
- Experience with DBT for transformations.
- Knowledge of Qlik or similar BI migration is a plus.
- High proficiency in SQL; scripting in Python is an advantage.
- Strong data modelling experience (star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modelling).
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and project coordination skills.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in automotive or financial sectors is beneficial.
- Availability for 2 days/week onsite.
