Company Description
Our Client is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to strengthen its cybersecurity posture and ensure the protection, performance, and reliability of its network infrastructure.
You will play a key role in designing, securing, monitoring, and troubleshooting critical network components to safeguard the organisation against cyber threats.
This role combines network engineering, security operations, incident response, and infrastructure hardening, in close collaboration with internal IT teams.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Security Design & Implementation
- Design, configure, and maintain security solutions (firewalls, VPNs, proxies, load balancers, WAF, etc.).
- Deploy protection mechanisms to prevent intrusions and unauthorized access.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of network security architecture.
2. Network Monitoring & Performance
- Continuously monitor network activity to detect anomalies or attacks.
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Analyse alerts and logs, responding to incidents in real time.
3. Troubleshooting & Advanced Technical Support
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex network and security issues.
- Provide Level 3 support and collaborate with technical and non‑technical teams.
- Participate in incident response and post‑incident remediation activities.
Qualifications
Technical Skills Required
Network & Routing
- Strong understanding of routing/switching (static routing, OSPF, BGP).
- Experience with routers, switches, WiFi, DNS, TACACS, ISP connectivity, ExpressRoute, and related technologies.
Security Technologies
- Expertise with:
- Firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto, Fortinet, CheckPoint, Cisco ASA)
- VPN technologies
- Forward & reverse proxies
- Load balancers (e.g. F5, Citrix)
- WAF & reverse proxy solutions
Cloud & Secure Access
- Understanding of cloud security principles (data protection, access control).
- Knowledge of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA).
Incident Detection & Response
- Ability to detect threats, manage incidents, and support vulnerability remediation.
- Experience with threat analysis and security operations.
Automation & Scripting
- Ability to automate tasks using scripting languages.
Operating Systems & Protocols
- Familiarity with network‑related operating systems and encryption standards.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills with technical and non‑technical stakeholders

- Evidence of ongoing professional training in network security
