Headquarters of the Nearshore IT center, Alter Solutions Portugal has a dedicated team of around 30 specialized professionals, integrated into projects with several internationally renowned clients.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Linux System Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Linux systems administration, possess in-depth knowledge of Ansible and Terraform, and have significant experience managing large-scale infrastructures comprising over 500 servers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain our Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
• Develop and implement automation solutions using Ansible and Terraform to streamline system deployment, configuration, and management processes.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary corrective actions promptly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
• Perform regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and security audits to safeguard critical data and systems.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices to continually improve our systems and processes.

Requirements:

• Expert-level proficiency in Linux systems administration.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with Ansible and Terraform.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructures with over 500 servers.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, storage systems, and security protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).

• Proficiency in English is mandatory.
• Full-time office presence during the first 6 months is required.
