Power BI Support Engineer

The Power BI Support Engineer will be part of the IPTS Infrastructure and Operations team. This team work closely with software development, infrastructure engineering, solution architects, and database teams in order to automate configuration and deployment of Azure infrastructure, Office 365 applications, and other application packages. This role will be focused on supporting the program’s business intelligence reporting infrastructure and application support needs.

Responsibilities:

•         Supports development, testing, and County teams with IPTS report setup and configuration

•         Builds and configures Power BI environments

•         Improve existing build and release processes and procedures

•         Troubleshoot application deployment issues related to reports

•         Support Reporting servers and services by applying network configuration changes, security configurations, server patching, backup, and other resource customizations

•         Support IPTS reports in production

Requirements:

•         3-4 years’ experience

•         Customer support experience is must

•         Understanding of the infrastructure requirements of setting up Power BI Desktop and Power BI Services

•         Hands-on workspaces reports and dashboard design on Power BI Desktop and Power BI Services

•         Report creation using virtualization on Power BI to support customers

•         Data modelling, Calculations, Conversions, Scheduling Data refreshes in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Services

•         Hands on DAX expressions and ability to perform complex calculations

•         Experience working with SQL databases

•         Working experience with end to end setup for an on premise and cloud deployment of PowerBI

•         Must have worked with connectors to various data sources from Microsoft and other sources

•         Expert knowledge of Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Services.

•         Expert knowledge of Microsoft Power BI Visuals, Data modelling, and transformation techniques.

•         Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to perform research that involves interpretation and analysis from a variety of sources, including sources and/or data that should be developed.

•         Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

•         Experience working with Azure Cloud (optional)

•         Experience with other business intelligence tools and data warehouses (optional)
