Job Description
The Facility Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily facility operations to ensure that all building systems, utilities, and services are functioning efficiently. The role includes planning and supervising preventive maintenance, managing water and sewage treatment processes, conducting routine inspections through Management by Walking Around (MBWA), and ensuring service quality across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
(A) Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Coordinate day-to-day facility operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and civil works.
- Implement and supervise Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules for all assets.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Maintain an updated asset register and maintenance logs.
(B) Water & Sewage Treatment Management
- Develop and implement Water Treatment Plans (WTP) and Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) operations.
- Monitor water quality, chemical dosing, and treatment efficiency.
- Inspect pumps, tanks, pipelines, and discharge systems for performance and compliance.
- Liaise with vendors and laboratory services for water quality testing.
- Ensure environmental compliance and safe disposal practices.
(C) Management by Walking Around (MBWA)
- Conduct daily site walkarounds and inspections to monitor building conditions.
- Identify defects, safety risks, and service gaps in real time.
- Engage technicians and occupants to understand operational challenges.
- Ensure immediate resolution or escalation of observed issues.
(D) Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Supervise service providers for cleaning, security, landscaping, pest control, and maintenance.
- Review work quality and ensure contract compliance.
- Validate job cards and service reports.
(E) Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance.
- Conduct safety inspections and incident reporting.
- Ensure the facility complies with regulatory and internal safety standards.
(F) Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly facility reports.
- Track breakdowns and maintenance work orders in the CMMS.
- Maintain records for audits and compliance reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering, Estate Management, Building Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in Facility Management or Building Maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with: Water treatment systems, Sewage treatment plants, PPM scheduling, Vendor coordination, and Site supervision
- Professional certification, such as NEBOSH / HSE Certification and IFMA / BIFM
