Job Description
- Provide field HSE support and guidance throughout all activities.
- Oversee the development and delivery of operational processes safely.
- Provides input to leading and lagging HSE performance measures;
- Liaises with all stakeholders to be aware and educate the workforce on HSE news & updates.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory and contract HSE requirements
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate accidents and incidents at project sites, prepare reports, and develop recommendations to prevent future occurrences
- Oversee the development and delivery of health and safety training programs
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all health, safety, and environmental activities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required
- Oversee the accuracy of data inputs on the departmental scorecard
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans
- Champion the incident investigations as needed
- Ensure Incidents are recorded & reported and effectively execute immediate Incidents and near-miss investigations
- Keep abreast of new developments in health, safety, and environmental protection to ensure the company is up-to-date on best practices
- Facilitate safety audits and inspections as per the audit plan
- Ensures that the company safety expectations are communicated to the workforce
- Review contingency drills to maintain and increase staff competency;
- Monitor the quality of data entered in the reporting & action-tracking tools;
- Carry out safety induction and safety awareness across the board
- Perform other duties as delegated by the HSE Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in safety management, engineering, or any related field
- Minimum of 5 cognate years of experience as a Health and safety specialist in a real estate space
- HSE Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISPON HSE 123 is a must-have
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 or OHSAS 18001
- Experience conducting HSE audits and investigations
