Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Junior Technical Designer is responsible for assisting the Technical Designer and works closely with the Product and Development team. The Junior Technical Designer aids in fostering a more creative and productive environment for the design production staff during departmental preparation to meet the needs of the product schedules.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Technical Designer with all aspects of the design process and day-to-day projects
  • Create flat sketching within Illustrator and update sketches as needed
  • Work with design team to meet design and production TP deadlines
  • Spec, analyze, and make reports on all pre-production and production samples before fit meeting
  • Assist in fit meetings and conduct research for pre-season planning
  • Organize and monitor sample schedules from overseas
  • Communicate with overseas vendors and factories
  • Work with cross-functional teams to provide support regarding the technical design of Alpha’s garments
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records
  • Collaborate and assist other department when needed
  • Assists product development as needed with graphic design work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or related field
  • 2-3 years of Fashion industry experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of the apparel business
  • Solid knowledge and working experience in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience with pattern making, patternmaking, and knowledge of garment construction
