Job Description
System Administrator
We are looking for a skilled system administrator to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who is passionate and who loves what they do.
Our client runs dozens of well known and highly regarded web hosting brands within the UK providing hosting based on cPanel, Plesk and various custom control panels and provisioning systems.
As part of the sysops/devops team you will focus on maintaining, enhancing and consolidating their various web hosting, email, dedicated and cloud/virtualisation platforms across all of their brands. They focus heavily on automation and devops methodologies and you should be keen to adopt these practices.
Qualifications
You will need excellent knowledge of:
· Linux, from the kernel up
· Apache, PHP
· MySQL
· Virtualisation (Xen, KVM, VMWare, HyperV)
Experience with the following would be beneficial, but on the job training is provided
· Puppet or Ansible
· Another scripting language such as Bash or Perl
· Nagios (including writing plugins)
· cPanel, Plesk
· Windows/IIS/MSSQL
· Networking (OSI layer, subnets, routing, DNS)
You must be a quick learner, able to quickly audit and work on unfamiliar systems.
The internet is a 24x7 business and, as such, you will be expected to join a 24x7 rota.
