Hours Per Week: 40.00

Hours Per Day: 8.00

Interview Notes: Contract to Hire

Contractor hourly Pay range: $30.00 – $34.00/hr (start salary will depend on experience, credentials, etc). Upon hire as an FT teammate, additional $1.50 per hour increase.

Job Description

Duties: Reviews clinical documentation and diagnostic results as appropriate to extract abstract data and apply appropriate ICD-9-CM/ICD10-CM/PCS and CPT 4 codes for reimbursement and external reporting, research, regulatory compliance, medical necessity, CCI, NCCI and any other regulatory edits. Code and abstract medical records of high complexity within the CHS Primary Enterprise acute care facilities. This is for facility coding. If you only have experience in pro-fee coding this won’t be a good fit for you.”

Qualifications

Skills: 

Required -Advanced knowledge in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology and Pharmacology required. 

Required -4 years coding experience in acute care setting required.

Candidates must to have one or more (see below) of required certs and strong inpatient experience.  This is for facility coding. If you only have experience in pro-fee coding this won’t be a good fit for you.”  This is from the Hiring Manager!

Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree preferred

Current RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC-H, CPC or CIC required plus a passing score on the CHS Coding test.

Required Skills:

Minimum Degree Required: Completed High School (Diploma or GED)
