Job Description

Our automotive manufacturing client has an immediate need for a Material Control Specialist (Entry Level). The ideal candidate must have: SAP, Microsoft Office, experience with packaging material, good receipts, receiving and shipping, and warehouse logistics; similar to MCS at the plant, but strictly working in the warehouse.

**Position Purpose/Scope: What are the key objectives of the position?  Efficiently ensures availability of the required quantity of exact parts at the needed time to support Plant Spartanburg production program and TS-12 (Material Planning) targets as they align to Plant Spartanburg goals. 

**Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities: List the major duties/accountabilities to achieve the positions key objectives.    Controls supplies and stock by timely planning the correct quantity of parts, while at the same time     optimizing the stock on hand.   Performs basic data processing and parameter administration in the Material Planning system.   Supports on-going series production, parts run-in and run-out, and processing of technical changes  within this scope is the minimization of obsolescence costs.   Maintains and analyzes monthly Supplier rating and yearly SUMIS (Supplier Management Information  System) rating information as applicable.    Participates in TS-M projects, or projects led outside TS-M.   Acts as a contact to all suppliers and carriers, logistics association, and institutions.
Performs other duties as assigned by operations supervisor.

Qualifications

**Position Competencies:

A) Education: BS/BA degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or International Business with German concentration or related discipline preferred or 4 years equivalent professional experience in Material Planning including Material Requirements Planning (MRP).

B) Experience:  1 year of related professional experience in Material Planning (including Material Requirements Planning).  Supply Chain Management, or Material/Production Control preferred

C) Training:   As applicable, per training guidelines.

 D) Licenses and/or Certifications:    N/A

 E) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Basic = less than 1 year of experience/training needed; Intermediate = 1 – 3 years of experience/some training may be needed; Advanced = 3-5 years experience/no training needed; Expert = 5+ years experience/able to train others.

Intermediate = 1-3 Years computer skills (Microsoft Office) with emphasis on Excel and Word.

Basic = German, Spanish and Chinese a plus.

Basic = 1 year communication/interpersonal skills.
