Job Description

The Sr. Communication Specialist helps employees understand company strategy, goals and objectives through the effective creation of communication collateral, management of key communication vehicles and support of the organization’s communication campaigns and events.  As a member of the Internal Communications team, the Sr. Communication Specialist provides support for senior communication team members and executive stakeholders while also executing organizational, regional and functional strategic communication agendas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with/own executive stakeholders (including executive directors and above), acting as an advisor to create, execute and manage communication strategies, messages and planning that drive the organizational charter highlighting the risks and benefits associated with proposed strategies and tactical responses.
  • Plan and execute communication strategies for organizational changes, crisis communication, technology/people strategy and events including the company’s annual Global Summit as well as regional/product specific/leadership meetings, executive staff calls and follow up.
  • Manage regional communication channels including communication councils, intranet content, and emerging social media platforms including Yammer. 
  • Gather and summarize employee feedback on communication effectiveness after key communication events and share with executive stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Design and develop communication collateral including presentations, talking points, emails, fact sheets and e-news to achieve specific objectives.
  • Design and produce graphic art and visual materials including video to support communication events and presentations.

Qualifications

  • A college graduate possessing 3- 5 years of related work experience (communication, strategy, graphic design, writing preferred)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment, handle internal clients with tact and diplomacy, and maintain composure and production quality under deadline pressure
  • Experience partnering on communication initiatives with senior level executives
  • Excellent writing, editing and proof-reading skills
  • Technology savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint; experience using web content management software ideal; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (esp. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to understand complex business information and effectively communicate key messages to and on behalf of all levels of business management and staff; Understand effective messaging to an audience
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environment that values creativity, self-motivation, candor, initiative, reliability and accountability
