HVAC Specialist
- Full-time
Company Description
The Aleut family of companies originated with two companies formed under The Aleut Corporation: Space Mark International (SMI) and Tekstar, Inc (TSI). Space Mark, Inc. was founded in 1986 as a professional consulting firm providing services to large companies in the areas of project analyses and proposal development. In October 1990, The Aleut Corporation (TAC) – an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska acquired SMI and qualified the company as an American Indian and minority-owned business enterprise. Superior performance and well-deserved respect from the Small Business Administration selected SMI as the “1993 Region VIII Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year” and in 1996, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center selected SMI as the “Small Disadvantaged Prime Contractor.”
In 1997, The Aleut Corporation approved the development of another company to carry an 8(a) status. TSI contracted with federal government entities across the country to provide computer maintenance/repair and facilities-related services. The company first known as “TAC Services, Inc. (TSI) was later changed to Tekstar, Inc. due to confusion related to the TAC Services provided and a local staffing firm.
Early in 2003, it was apparent that both SMI and TSI were competing for the same business segments so in 2004, the parent company of SMI and TSI collaborated to form a new company identified today as Aleut Management Services (AMS). In uniting these two companies, corporate views were to obtain faster growth opportunities, reduce overall expenses, implement “best practices” across the companies, and provide opportunities for the employees.
AMS was officially launched on April 1, 2005. Shortly thereafter, AMS created five new companies, Aleut Global Solutions (AGS), Aleut Communications Services (ACS), Aleut Facilities Support Services (AFSS), Aleut Technologies (AT), and Aleut Northwest Services (ANWS). All five companies (AGS, ACS, AFSS, AT, ANWS) were established to focus on specific DoD and federal government market segments. In 2012, AMS launched Aleut Aerospace Engineering (AAE) and Aleut O&M Services (AOMS). These seven subsidiaries specialize in facilities maintenance, facilities operations, information technology, public works, utilities and power plant operations, communications, engineering, environmental services, logistics and supply, transportation, housing maintenance, and technology support services.

- Aleut Facilities Support Services, LLC (AFSS) headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO
- Aleut Technologies, LLC (AT) headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO
