Job Description

We are currently looking for a talented software engineer to make a meaningful impact on Alertus, its customers, and the mass emergency notification industry. The Software Engineer - PHP will be a key player in bringing our mission to life through the development of the Alertus Unified Mass Notification System cloud offering. 

Our ideal candidate is an experienced, detail-oriented PHP engineer used to working on a team and contributing to the ongoing success of the project.

A Day in the Life:

  • Work collaboratively with engineers and other team members to design, develop, debug, and release a state-of-the-art unified mass notification cloud platform
  • Build and implement efficient, testable, and reusable back-end PHP microservices
  • Design & develop new REST API endpoints
  • Refactor, optimize, and maintain codebase

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 4-7 years work experience developing PHP applications.
  • Experience with PHP MVC frameworks (Laravel, CodeIgniter, or similar)
  • Excellent design and querying expertise with relational databases
  • Experience building restful JSON web services
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail

Nice to Haves:

  • AWS/Azure/Oracle/Google Cloud experience
  • LAMP or LAPP stack experience
  • Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
  • Experience with JavaScript front-end frameworks like Vue.js, Angular, or React
