Job Description
Third Party Eligibility Account Representatives work as a liaison between our client hospital facilities and Alegis Revenue Group. Their role is to assist under-insured individuals with the eligibility process through Federal, State and County government programs; and identify any potential Third-Party Liability
Responsibilities:
• Screens Patients at bedside, over the phone and assist walk-ins.
• Evaluates Patients for potential eligibility through a third party payer source; (Medicaid, Crime Victim Program, County Indigent, SSI, Affordable Care Act).
• Assist qualified patients with completing applications and secures supporting documents for eligibility process.
• Communicates with Federal, State and County Offices, schedules patient appointments and follows up for current application status.
• Utilizes all available resources to obtain account resolution in a prompt and timely manner.
• Responsible for managing workgroup including active inventory for follow up.
• Documents in both hospital and company computer system account status and current activity
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications:
• Self-Motivated individual with strong Customer Service skills who desires to make a difference in other peoples’ lives by working directly with hospital facilities, patients and government agencies.
• Knowledge of eligibility criteria for Third Party payer programs; (i.e., TX Medicaid, Crime Victim Program, County Indigent, SSI, Affordable Care Act);
• Prior experience working with individuals with diverse backgrounds, socio-economic and educational levels; including patients and hospital staff (Admitting Dept., Case Managers and Patient Financial Services).
• Excellent communication skills, with an ability to apply these skills in a professional setting.
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Programs
• Reliable transportation
• High School Diploma
Desired:
• Bilingual - Spanish/English.
• Familiarity with Medicaid programs in a healthcare/hospital/government setting.
• Knowledge of Denial and Appeal procedures, for 3rd party payer programs.
• Experience with SSI/Disability claims process from the Initial thru ALJ Appeals Level.
