Job Description

Manages the potroom operations in the Lista plant with cost efficient optimal operations to ensure production and business targets are met.  This role Guarantees that the management and the organization of his area of responsibility is excellence oriented. She/He motivates and develop staff to achieve excellence of performance. Ensures that staff members are provided with an environment which allows them to optimize their performance, providing them with a continuous support and a regular competencies and performance review in a perspective of professional development. Supervises all Area activities in a cost efficient, productive and the safest manner.

• Responsible for all potroom activities in line with production goals (production and maintenance KPIs)
• Responsible of the maintenance activities for all potroom area in line with the maintenance goals
• Develop and own the Potroom budget directly reporting to the plant manager
• Communicate annual production plan to Plant manager and monitor progress and variations.
• Ensure that machinery and implemented systems are within the standard safety requirement.
• Guarantee an adequate risks management to operational processes and suggests adequate changes.
• Cooperate with Plant Management in detecting, designing and implementing all organizational changes able to improve efficiencies and Plant performances.
• Responsible for guaranteeing the compliance with all EHS policy and procedure for the whole plant and in his Area of Responsibility
• Ensure that the procedures are available for all employees and guarantee an adequate support in terms of training and communication flow
• Ensure to keep a good level of housekeeping in the plant, as per predefined Alcoa standards
• Ensure that subordinates, colleagues and external visitors abide by security norms.
• Guarantee that the management and the organization of his area of responsibility is excellence oriented
• Motivate and develop staff to achieve excellence of performance.
• Ensure that staff members are provided with an environment which allows them to optimize their performance, providing them with a continuous support and a regular competencies and performance review in a perspective of professional development
• Supervise all Area activities in a cost efficient, productive and safest manner
• Is accountable for the safe and cost effective production of molten metal and a continuous metal supply with quality and delivery expectations. This is achieved through coordinating, supervising all activities in the Potroom by planning, organizing, and managing systems and processes to ensure attainment of production goals.
 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have an Engineering Degree with minimum 10 years experience in the area of production/ engineering in a complex production environment including substantial experience in people management.

• Ability to envision production and opeartional strategy and put the right measures in place to achieve strategic targets. High level of initiative, enthusiasm, and commitment

• Overall solid understanding of aluminum business, aluminum production, related processes and associated sciences

•  Strong analytical skills 

• Self-starter personality including the orientation for continuous development of processes, techniques and tools  

• Excellent communications, coordination, people management and influencing skills

• Strong values, ethics and customer orientation

• Action-oriented person who executes for measureable results and takes accountability for actions

• Capability of challenging status quo for continuous development

• Manage conflicting interests, timelines and difficult reporting processes • Language skills: English and another European language
