Job Description

The Production Crew Leader is accountable for the safety and health of the employees under his/her direction by recognizing and reducing risk and managing processes that prevent incidents in his/her areas.  The crew leader must ensure that safe work procedures and practices are followed and address at-risk behaviors in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing process knowledge to aide production, maintenance, planning, quality, and engineering personnel
  • Coaching and counseling employees on standard operating practices and "best practices" for increased performance
  • Leading troubleshooting efforts, developing practices, developing process improvements, and enhancing productivity and employee engagement
  • Accountability for traditional administrative tasks of crew leaders.

 

Qualifications

 

  • The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED 
  • A minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Ability to share examples of problem solving experience
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel specifically)
  • Experience initiating and implementing change
  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline
  • Supervisory experience in a union environment
  • Knowledge of ABS or Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Warrick location experience
