Job Description

We have a number of vacancies for experienced Senior Process/Chemical Engineers to join the technical group at our Alumina refineries in Western Australia.

The Senior Process Chemical Engineer is accountable for improvement of the technical efficiency of the Refinery process, to enable the Refinery to improve product quality, upgrade plant capacity and reduce operating costs.

In this role you will;

  • Ensure prudent commitment of capital by developing and regularly updating production upgrade plans and cost reduction plans.
  • Consistently improve the technical efficiency of the refinery through best practice application and daily management processes. 
  • Contribute to the expansion of production capability and improved technical operations by process problem-solving and plant trials.
  • Develop Area Chemical Engineers through supervision and coaching, and coordinating short-term cross functional project groups.

Qualifications

To ensure your success in this role, you must possess a tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering and have the ability to communicate at all levels, develop people, and maintain process management systems.  Well established process plant experience is required and previous experience in the Bayer process and supervision will be highly regarded.  A demonstrated commitment to Environment, Health and Safety is essential, along with a proven track record in pro-active problem solving.  Your use of initiative and a desire to continuously improve business performance will be utilised in this dynamic team environment.
