Job Description

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Group Leader (Supervisor) to join a dynamic team at our Bunbury Port.

In this leadership role you will be responsible for coaching others to reach their full potential, developing and upholding very high standards of process/maintenance practices and guiding the team to achieve its’ challenging goals in all areas of the business.  You will act as a help chain to the team, with your ability to problem solve process and team issues to embed root cause fixes.  This role also contains the coordination of shipping movements and offers excellent networking opportunities with the marketing division, Wagerup and Pinjarra alumina refineries. For the right candidate, the role offers development opportunity if you wish to continue to grow within Alcoa’s leadership team.

You will be responsible for implementing and sustaining business system improvements, assisting team members implement suggestion scheme ideas, championing any new global initiatives within the team, auditing of standardised work practices and occasional Supervisor leave coverage. You will enjoy meeting challenges and working with a diverse group of long-term and engaged employees to develop and implement strategies across our workgroups.

Qualifications

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.  Your highly developed team leadership and communication skills will be essential, as you will be required to lead your team working in a number of areas and issues at the same time, whilst prioritising your resources.  You will have plenty of initiative and self-motivation and will thrive on working with minimal supervision.  Especially for this role at Bunbury, you will have well developed communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with numerous and varied stakeholders both within the business and with external companies.
